Guruvayur Temple Timings – Pooja & Darshan Timing

Temple Opens at 3:00 AM

  • 3:00 AM to 3:30 AM: Nirmalyam
  • 3:20 AM to 3:30 AM: Oil Abhishekam, Vakacharthu, Sankhabhishekam
  • 3:30 AM to 4:15 AM: Malar Nivedyam, Alankaram
  • 4:15 AM to 4:30 AM: Usha Nivedyam
  • 4:30 AM to 6:15 AM: Ethirettu Pooja followed by Usha Pooja
  • 7:15 AM to 9:00 AM: Seeveli, Palabhishekam, Navakabhishekam, Pantheeradi Nivedyam, and Morning Pooja
  • 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM: Ucha Pooja (Midday Pooja)

Temple Closure:
The temple remains closed between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM. It reopens at 4:30 PM.

  • 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM: Seeveli
  • 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM: Deeparadhana
  • 7:30 PM to 7:45 PM: Athazha Pooja Nivedyam
  • 7:45 PM to 8:15 PM: Athazha Pooja
  • 8:45 PM to 9:00 PM: Athazha Seeveli
  • 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM: Thrippuka, Olavayana
  • 9:15 PM: The Sreekovil closes. On days with Special Illuminations (Vilakku), Thrippuka is performed afterward. The Sreekovil closes after Thrippuka. Following this, Krishnanattam, a traditional dance-drama depicting the life of Lord Krishna, is performed on designated days.

The Guruvayur Temple opens its doors early in the morning and follows a strict schedule throughout the day. Here are the general darshan timings: Morning Darshan: 3:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Afternoon Darshan: 4:30 PM to 9:15 PM.

Men should be in dhoti and towel and women should dress in saree or salwar kameez. 4. Be patient as sometimes it might take 5-6 hours to visit the inner part of the temple.

A strict dress code is followed in the temple. Men can only were Dhotis, no shirts are allowed. Ladies may wear saris or Churidhars or salwar kameez or skirts and tops. Infants who have not been fed rice(choroonu in Malayalam), and women who are more than seven months pregnant are not allowed inside the main temple.

Bathe and wear clean clothes before entering the Temple. Do not take video camera, mobile phone, radio, tape recorder etc. inside the temple wall(Nalambalam). There are facilities (paid counter) to keep them outside the temple.
