Darshan Timings Extended at Guruvayur Temple

Extended Darshan Timings at Guruvayur Temple: Celebrate the Festive Season: December 16th to January 19th

In light of the anticipated heavy rush during the Mandala Makara Vilakku season and the auspicious Ekadashi celebrations, Darshan Timings Extended at Guruvayur Temple has been announced. From December 16th to January 19th, devotees will have an additional one hour for darshan. During this period, the temple gates will open at 3:30 PM in the evening, providing devotees with more time to offer their prayers in a serene and organized manner. For updated Guruvayur Temple timings, please check the official schedule.

As soon as the temple opens, the Seveli procession will commence, followed by uninterrupted darshan until the Deeparadhana (evening lamp ceremony). This adjustment ensures that more devotees can participate in the sacred rituals and seek blessings during this spiritually significant season.

However, it is important to note that the Udayasthamana Pooja, a special full-day offering, will not be conducted during this period, except on Tuesdays when it is organized by the Devaswom. For devotees specifically seeking the Udayasthamana Pooja, the next opportunity will be in the last week of January.

The Ekadashi Vilakku celebrations, a highlight of the temple’s annual calendar, are set to begin on Monday. These festivities attract thousands of devotees and are marked by special rituals, vibrant lamps, and devotional music, creating a divine atmosphere that resonates with faith and spirituality.

This decision to extend darshan timings was made during a Devaswom Managing Committee meeting held recently under the chairmanship of Dr. V.K. Vijayan. The meeting also saw the participation of committee members Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad, Chennas Dineshan Namboothiripad, C. Manoj, K.P. Vishwanathan, V.G. Ravindran, Manoj B. Nair, and the temple administrator, Shri K.P. Vinayan.

Devotees visiting Guruvayur during this period can look forward to a spiritually enriching experience, with extended darshan hours and festive celebrations enhancing the divine atmosphere.

Whether you are planning to visit for Mandala Makara Vilakku or the Ekadashi celebrations, this is a perfect time to immerse yourself in the unique spiritual aura of Guruvayur Temple. Plan your visit today to witness the grandeur and devotion that define this sacred season.
