Guruvayur, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in Kerala, is introducing a new smart queue booking system to simplify darshan arrangements for devotees. The Guruvayur Devaswom has announced that the new system will officially begin on November 23, allowing devotees to reserve their darshan time slots more conveniently and efficiently.
Guruvayur Temple Smart Queue
For the past several months, the temple had been preparing to implement this digital queue system to ensure smooth crowd management, especially on weekends and festival days. As the temple receives lakhs of devotees every month, the introduction of time-based online booking is expected to reduce long waiting periods and offer a more organized darshan experience.
According to the Devaswom officials, as many as 1.5 lakh time slots have already been booked by devotees. The system allows online registration for darshan through the official website, where devotees can select a preferred time slot and complete their booking. This will significantly ease congestion inside the temple premises and enhance crowd flow.
In addition to the darshan booking system, the Devaswom has also planned special arrangements for the Ekadasi festival held in the Malayalam month of Vrischikam. The temple typically sees very high footfall on this auspicious day, and the authorities have taken steps to manage the pilgrimage rush without compromising devotees’ convenience and safety.
Officials also stated that the system will continue to be upgraded in phases to provide a seamless experience. More features, including improved entry management and digital verification, will be integrated over time.
With this new initiative, Guruvayur Temple is entering a more technologically advanced phase of pilgrimage management, ensuring that thousands of devotees can worship peacefully without long queues or confusion. Devotees are encouraged to utilize the system and plan their visit well in advance.
